A different Rio for every day
You can start with the ocean, spend a day in museums or swap the beach for a walk among the trees. Pick an area and leave room to enjoy it: an itinerary with fewer transfers is usually easier to adapt to the weather and to your mood.
Beaches and walks
Copacabana, Ipanema and Arpoador are good starting points for exploring the coast. Combine a stroll along the promenade with a break to eat, and decide how much you want to walk. If you plan to go in the water, check the day's conditions and local guidance.
Culture and city
Look up the exhibitions at CCBB and what's on at the Museu do Amanhã before choosing a date. You can build a day around one main visit and add a second stop if you have time left. Booking several activities back to back leaves little margin for lines and transfers.
Nature and views
The Jardim Botânico offers themed trails; Parque Bondinho connects Praia Vermelha, Morro da Urca and Sugarloaf Mountain (Pão de Açúcar). Choose based on the kind of outing you're after and check visiting conditions on the official channels.

Maracanã Stadium
If you like soccer, the Maracanã deserves an outing of its own. You can experience it in two ways: on the official tour, which takes you inside the stadium, or by going to a match. If you go to a match, buy your ticket only through the home club's channels and arrive early.
The tour operates at Av. Rei Pelé, Portão 2 (Gate 2), and tickets are sold on its official website. Hours change on match days and the stadium may close for events, so check the notices before you go. To get there, take Metro Line 2 and get off at Rei Pelé – Maracanã or São Cristóvão station.
